3 MILLION APPLICATIONS RECEIVED FOR INCLUSION OF NAMES DURING DISPLAY PROCESS OF DRAFT ELECTORAL ROLLS.
Islamabad, the 25th July, 2007.- Computerized Electoral Rolls were published on 12th June, 2007, for inviting claims, objections and applications for correction, upto 18th July, 2007. The Spokesman of the Election Commission has informed that around 30 Lakh (3 Million) applications for inclusion of names of eligible voters, have been received, which will now be adjudicated upon by the Revising Authorities upto 28th July, 2007.

The Spokesman of the Election Commission has informed that during the process of house-to-house enumeration 52 Million eligible voters were brought on the Draft Computerized Electoral Rolls and after inclusion of around 3 Million voters, the total number of eligible voters in the Computerized Electoral Rolls when finally published by the end of September, 2007, will be more than 55 Million.
3. The Spokesman further clarified that after the publication of final Electoral Rolls and before the issuance of Schedule for conduct of General Elections, any person whose name does not appear in the final Electoral Rolls, can apply to the appropriate Registration Officer (Assistant Election Commissioner/Deputy Election Commissioner), for inclusion of his name, which will entitle him to cast his vote in the forthcoming General Elections.
