30TH SEPTEMBER, 2008 -LAST DATE FOR FILING OF YEARLY STATEMENTS OF ASSETS AND LIABILITIES BY THE SENATORs, MNAs & MPAs.

                     Islamabad, 27^th  September, 2008. – Mr. Justice (R) Qazi Muhammad Farooq, Chief Election Commissioner has once again drawn attention of the Members of the Parliament and Provincial Assemblies to submit to the Election Commission by 30^th September, 2008, yearly Statements of Assets and Liabilities of their own, their spouses and dependents. This is a mandatory requirement under Section 42A of the Representation of the People Act, 1976 and Section 25A of the Senate (Election) Act, 1975. The Members who fail to file their Statements of Assets & Liabilities within specified period shall cease to function till above said Statements are submitted.

2.                 The prescribed Forms are available, free of cost, from the Election Commission Secretariat, Islamabad and offices of Provincial Election Commissioners in each Province. Forms have already been sent to the Senate Secretariat, National Assembly Secretariat and Secretariats of all the four Provincial Assemblies for facility of Hon’ble Members.
