A meeting of the Election Commission regarding introduction of biometric machines
Islamabad, the 5th January, 2015: A meeting of the Election Commission regarding introduction of biometric machines during conduct of Local Government Elections in province of KPK was held under the Chairmanship of the Hon’ble Chief Election Commissioner Mr. Justice Sardar Muhammad Raza in ECP Secretariat, Islamabad. The Chief Minister KPK, on his own request, attended the meeting along with Local Government Minister KPK, Advocate General and Secretary LGE.
After detailed discussions and deliberations regarding various difficulties/aspects including procurement, operational, technical, logistical and security of biometric data in introduction of Biometric Systems, it was decided that Biometrics System will not be used in the upcoming LG Elections in KPK and the LG Elections in KPK will be held on conventional system.
