Mr. Haroon Khan Shinwari

Mr. Haroon Khan Shinwari belongs to Shinwari Tribe, The Historic Khyber Pass, Landikotal. He did Masters in International Relations and Pashto Literature from Peshawar University.

He started his career as a journalist in English Daily in 1995. He has written many articles on different topics in English, Urdu and Pashto for leading newspapers and Magazines as well as remained Editor of various magazines. Author of  four books in different languages such as English, Urdu and Pashto. He also worked as TV / Radio Anchor for different Pashto Channels, Produced and Directed Documentary films on the works and life of Pashto legend Poets and Saints.

Mr. Shinwari Joined Election Commission of Pakistan as Assistant Election Commissioner BS -17 in 1997. He has performed duty as Spokesperson Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) twice 2017-2018 and 2021-22 . He also served as Joint Provincial Election Commissioner, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and have gained 25 year of service experience.

Presently, Mr. Haroon Shinwari is Heading Media Coordination and OutReach wing and  Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Wing, ECP Secretariat.
