(Assets Liabilities 16 parties)

        Islamabad, the 13th October, 2005.- A meeting of the Election Commission was held today under the chairmanship of Mr. Justice Abdul Hameed Dogar, Acting Chief Election Commissioner and Judge Supreme Court of Pakistan. It was attended by Hon’ble Members Election Commission Mr. Justice Nasim Sikander, Judge Lahore High Court, Lahore and Mr. Ahmed Khan Lashari, Judge High Court of Balochistan. The Kanwar Muhammad Dilshad, Secretary Election Commission and senior officers of Election Commission were also present.

 

2.       The Commission offered Fateha for those who died in recent earthquake and showed their sympathies with bereaved families.

 

3.       The Election Commission perused statements of Assets and Liabilities filed by Hon’ble Members of the Senate, National Assembly and Provincial Assemblies of the Punjab, Sindh, NWFP and Balochistan. It resolved to publish the Statements of Assets and Liabilities of Hon’ble Members in the Official Gazette as required under the law.

 

4.       The Election Commission requested Hon’ble Chief Election Commissioner to notify on 15th October, 2005 the names of Members who will fail to submit their Statements of Assets and Liabilities by that date.

 

5.       The Election Commission in its meeting held on 10th September, 2005 had resolved to send notices to 45 political parties who had not filed Statements of their accounts for the submission of the same within 30 days. Accordingly, the following 16 political parties filed their statements of accounts duly authenticated by a Charted Accountant which will be published in the Official Gazette for information of the general public:

2.                 Balochistan National Party.

3.                 Hazara Qaumi Mahaz.

4.                 Jamat Ahl-e-Hadith Pakistan.

5.                 National Workers Party.

6.                  Pakistan Ghareeb Party.

7.                 Sunni Tehreek.

8.                 Islami Tehreek-e-Pakistan.

9.                 Jamiat Ulama-e-Islam (F)

10.             Jamiat-e-Mushaikh.

11.             Markazi Jamiat Ahle Hadith (Lakhwi Group)

12.             Pakhtoonkhwa Qaumi Party.

13.             Pakistan Freedom Party.

14.             Jamiat Ulama-e-Pakistan (N).

15.             Pakistan Brohi Party.

16.             Gharib Awam party.
