Attention for the purpose of registration as voter or casting vote

 

Islamabad, the 25^th April, 2015:- The Election Commission of Pakistan has drawn attention to proviso of sub-section (2) of Section 6 of Electoral Roll Act 1974 which provides that National Identity Card issued by National Database and Registration Authority shall be deemed to be valid for the purpose of registration as voter or casting vote at a poll, notwithstanding the expiry of its validity period.

 

2.                     Accordingly, all voters possessing NIC issued by NADRA can cast vote at a poll, provided the expired NIC is genuine in itself.
