Islamabad, the 14^th January, 2010.-  Mr. Ishtiak Ahmed Khan, Secretary, Election Commission of Pakistan has said that the Election Commission of Pakistan, one of the most vital institutions of the State, is transforming itself into a new dynamic entity capable of fulfilling its Constitutional obligations in a most efficient and effective manner in line with the aspirations of the whole nation. He further said that in this context, it not only needs restructuring but also taking a fresh look at its services rules, recruitment criteria and promotion policy.  

 

         As a first step to achieve the above objectives, the Hon’ble Chief Election Commissioner of Pakistan, Mr. Justice (R) Hamid Ali Mirza, in exercise of his powers vested with him vide Finance Division’s Office Memorandum, dated the 25^th July, 2000, has been pleased to upgrade, by one stage, all posts in BPS-16 and above under the Election Commission of Pakistan. This decision has been taken in the public interest and for smooth functioning of the organization. The up-gradation of remaining ministerial posts will be made in due course.
