CHIEF ELECTION COMMISSIONER DISMISSED APPEAL FILED BY JUSTICE RETIRED MUHAMMAD AZAM KHAN AGAINST THE DECISION OF RETURNING OFFICER FOR SENATE ELECTION FROM NWFP
            Islamabad March 10, 2006.-        Justice (R) Muhammad Azam Khan, contesting candidate for election to the Senate against the seat reserved for technocrats/ Ulema from NWFP filed appeal before the Chief Election Commissioner against the order of Returning Officer rejecting two ballot papers marked in favour of the appellant.
 
 

 

            After hearing the appellant, Justice (R) Muhammad Azam Khan, the successful candidates namely; Mr. Ilyas Ahmed Bilour,       Mr. Muhammad Azam Khan Swati, and their counsels, the Chief Election Commission of Pakistan dismissed the appeal being devoid of merits.
 
 

 

            Returning Officer (Provincial Election Commissioner, NWFP), for Elections to the Senate from NWF Province, Mr. Akhtar Hussain Sabir also appeared before the Chief Election Commissioner and produced the relevant record.
