CHIEF ELECTION COMMISSIONER OF PAKISTAN DIRECTED ANNUAL REVISION OF ELECTORAL ROLLS.

Lahore, the 7th April, 2009.- Kanwar Muhammad Dilshad, Secretary, Election Commission of Pakistan has informed that the Hon’ble Chief Election Commissioner of Pakistan has been pleased to direct that the Processing of Annual Revision of Electoral Rolls will commence through door-to-door Verification of existing Computerized Electoral Rolls through out the Country.
2. The Secretary Election Commission elaborated that necessary Instructions with regard to the Annual Revision of Electoral Rolls through the Process of door-to-door Verification have been issued to all the Provincial Election Commissioners with the directions that the following arrangements may be confirmed prior to the commencement of this gigantic task:
(1) To take stock of the existing Computerized Electoral Rolls;
(2) To prepare Lists of:
(a) House-holds in each electoral area.
(b) Verifying Officials for each electoral area.
(c) Supervisors for a group of electoral areas.
(d) Assistant Registration Officers.
(3) Procurement of stationery and printing of requisite Form-IV
(for Inclusion), Form-V (for Deletion) and Form-VI
(for Corrections);and
(4) Appointment of Revising Authorities with the concurrence of
Hon’ble Chief Justice of High Court concerned.
3. Kanwar Dilshad further informed that on completion of Pre-Process arrangements, the Hon’ble Chief Election Commissioner will address the Press about the Programme for Annual Revision of Electoral Rolls. He went on saying that while addressing Senior Officers of the Election Commission, the Hon’ble Chief Election Commissioner stressed upon them to the perform their duties faithfully and dedicatedly, which is a primary need for the accomplishment of this gigantic task of national importance as ultimately, it becomes fundamental document for the conduct of fair, free and transparent elections in the Country.
