CLARIFICATION

Islamabad, the 14^th January 2016. -         A news item titled “Media barred from entering ECP premises” has appeared in a section of press which is totally incorrect and not based on facts.

 In this regard, it is clarified that this Secretariat issued a Circular for streamlining the flow of information to media personnel through Public Relations Wing only. The sole purpose was to address the system and remove any lapses which could create confusion and ambiguities.

Moreover, the ECP respects media whole-heartedly and considers it as its main stakeholder.
