DISTRICT OFFICERS ARE ADVISED TO ACT WITH NEUTRALITY AND IMPARTIALITY DURING FORTHCOMING LOCAL GOVERNMENT ELECTIONS

                    Islamabad, the 4th August, 2005.-  Kanwar Muhammad Dilshad, Federal Secretary, Election Commission of Pakistan has stated that Mr. Justice Abdul Hameed Dogar, Acting Chief Election Commissioner of Pakistan has directed all District Officers particularly District Coordination Officers and District Police Officers to act with neutrality and impartiality during forthcoming Local Government Elections.  He has further directed that they should remain aloof from visits of Ministers, Advisors etc. to their home districts during election campaign.  
 
 
2.                The Chief Election Commissioner has said that for conduct of fair and transparent elections it is essential to provide level playing field for all contestants.  He has warned the officials that if any one is found involved in election campaign of any candidate, directly or indirectly, strict action will be taken against him in accordance with law.
 
 
3.                Secretary Election Commission of Pakistan has further said that Mr. Justice Abdul Hameed Dogar has also issued similar Directive to the Provincial Election Commissioners, Deputy Election Commissioners, Assistant Election Commissioners and other officers of Election Commission for remaining completely neutral and impartial during the election process.
