ECP ASKS CHIEF SECRETARY, KHYBER PAKHTUKHWA TO ENSURE PARTICIPATION OF WOMEN IN LG ELECTIONS

Islamabad, the 29^th May 2015.-    A letter has received from the DRO/Deputy Commissioner, Nowshera wherein he has stated that in Union Council, Balu, the elders of the area has decided to debar women from casting their votes in  the Local Government Elections scheduled to be held tomorrow i-e 30^th May 2015.  

         The Election Commission of Pakistan has taken a serious view of this act and asked Mr. Amjad Ali Khan, Chief Secretary, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province to personally see the matter and ensure that women are, in no case, debarred from casting their votes.
