ECP CLARIFIES NEWS ITEM

Islamabad, the 31st January 2012.-    A forged news item has appeared in a section of press, reporting that there is a controversy between Hon’ble Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) and Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan over the construction  of Chief Election Commissioner’s House in Islamabad.

A baseless and a false story has been attributed to the Hon’ble CEC saying “if the plot reserved for CEC’s house got cancelled, the CEC would use his legal powers as the Chief Justice of Pakistan is junior to him”

The ECP spokesman strongly refutes the baseless story and terms it as concocted.  He said Supreme Court is the apex court of Pakistan and we all respect its sanctity and consecration. He further explained that the total story is fictitious and a bad example of yellow journalism which needs to be avoided in future.
