ECP NOTIFIES SENATE ELECTION SCHEDULE
Islamabad, the 12th January, 2012.- The Election Commission of Pakistan has issued Notifications to elect to the Senate Members of the following categories:
1- Members of the Provincial Assembly of each of the Provinces of the Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan to elect to the Senate seven Members from general seats, two Members from the seats reserved for women and two Members for the seats reserved for Technocrats including Ulema, from each of the Provinces of the Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan,
2- Members of National Assembly to elect to the Senate one Member against general seat and the other Member against the seat reserved for Technocrats including Ulema from the Federal Capital,
3- Members of National Assembly from the Federally Administered Tribal Areas to elect to the Senate four Members against general seats,
4- Members of the Provincial Assembly of each of the Provinces of the Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan to elect to the Senate one Member from the seats reserved for non-Muslims, from each of the Provinces of the Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan
The above Members will be elected in place of the Members of the Senate, who are due to retire after the expiration of their term of office on 11th March, 2012. Following are the dates for the nomination of candidates, scrutiny of nomination papers, filing of appeals, disposal of appeals, withdrawal of candidature and for the taking of the poll at the places noted against them:
