Election Commission hereby authorizes the District Returning Officers and Returning Officers appointed for the conduct of Local Government Elections in Balochistan Province

 Islamabad, the 5th November, 2013.

 

No.F.5(1)/2013-LGE(P).-In pursuance of the provisions of sub section (4) of section 16 of the Balochistan Local Government Act, 2010 read with section 86A of the Representation of People Act, 1976, the Election Commission hereby authorizes the District Returning Officers and Returning Officers appointed for the conduct of Local Government Elections in Balochistan Province, scheduled to be held on 07.12.2013  to exercise the powers of the Magistrate First Class under the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1898 (Act No. V of 1898) with immediate effect till the announcement of official results.

 

2.      The aforesaid officers shall exercise the powers of Magistrate First Class in respect of all offences under the Balochistan Local Government Act, 2010 except the offences under section 46 thereof. These offences shall be tried in a summary way in accordance with the provisions of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1898 (Act No. V of 1898) in terms of Section 59 of the Balochistan Local Government Act, 2010.
