ELECTION COMMISSION ISSUES REVISED SCHEDULE FOR THE CONDUCT OF BYE-ELECTIONS, 2008

                        Islamabad, the 17th April, 2008.—Kanwar Muhammad Dilshad, Secretary, Election Commission of Pakistan has informed that due to ongoing sessions of the National Assembly and Provincial Assemblies, it was difficult for the Political Parties to pay proper attention to the issue of awarding tickets to the prospective candidates interested to contest the ensuing Fresh Elections/Bye-Elections from the platform of the party of their choice. Therefore, in order to facilitate the political parties in this regard, the Schedule for Fresh Elections/Bye-Elections, 2008 has been revised and necessary Notifications have been issued today by the Hon’ble Chief Election Commissioner in respect of the following National Assembly and Provincial Assemblies Constituencies:

2.                Kanwar Muhammad Dilshad further said that the stages of the Schedule now commence from the Filing of Nomination Papers from 15-4-2008 to 06-5-2008 and the date of Poll will be 18-6-2008. The detail of Revised Election Schedule for Bye-Elections is as under:
