ELECTION PROCEEDINGS TERMINATED DUE TO DEATH OF CH. ASGHAR ALI RANDHAWA, ADVOCATE, A CONTESTING CANDIDATE FROM CONSTITUENCY NO.PP-70 FAISALABAD-XX.

                    Islamabad, the 7th January, 2008.- The Secretary, Election Commission of Pakistan has informed that due to death of Ch. Asghar Ali Randhawa, Advocate, a contesting candidate from Constituency  No. PP-70 Faisalabad-XX, the Returning Officer concerned has terminated the proceedings relating to election to that constituency by issuing Public Notice in terms of section 18 of the Representation of the People Act, 1976.
 
2.                As such, fresh proceedings will commence after election schedule for the said constituency is announced by the Election Commission, in due course of time and in due process of law.
 
3.                The Secretary has further clarified that it shall not be necessary for the remaining contesting candidates to file fresh nomination papers or make further deposit under Section 13 of the Act.
