Islamabad, the 13th February, 2009.- Kanwar Muhammad Dilshad, Secretary, Election Commission of Pakistan has stated that in order to facilitate the prospective candidates to file Nomination Papers for Senate Elections-2009, the Hon’ble Chief Election Commissioner of Pakistan Mr. Justice ® Qazi Muhammad Farooq directed that offices of all Returning Officers will remain open today the 13th February, 2009 till 8:00 PM to receive the Nomination Papers. As a result, in all, 158 candidates have filed their Nomination Papers with the Returning Officers. The Province/Area –wise position in respect of each category is as under:
