(Marry-Withgrawal)
Islamabad, the 8th August, 2005.- A news item was carried by a section of press today that a candidate of Union Nazim in Kohistan district bribed his opponent and also promised to marry his minor daughter to him in lieu of his withdrawal from the contest paving way for his unopposed return as Union Nazim.
2. Chief Election Commissioner taking suo moto notice of this unlawful and inhuman act has directed District Returning Officer/District & Sessions Judge, Kohistan to hold a fact-finding inquiry into the matter and send a detailed report by 9th August, 2005 for taking further action in accordance with law.
