LOCAL GOVERNMENT INDIRECT ELECTIONS-2005 (3^RD PHASE)

 ELECTION CAMPAIGN SHALL COME TO AN END BY MIDNIGHT OF 4^TH OCTOBER, 2005.

Islamabad, the 1^st October, 2005.-  Kanwar Muhammad Dilshad, Federal Secretary, Election Commission of Pakistan has said that in exercise of his powers under Article 2 of the Local Government Elections Order, 2000 and all other powers enabling him in that behalf, the Hon’ble Acting Chief Election Commissioner of Pakistan Mr. Justice Abdul Hameed Dogar has been pleased to direct that candidates will neither convene corner meetings nor hold election campaign one day before the poll for Local Government Indirect Elections, 2005 (3^rd Phase).

 

2.      Accordingly, the election campaign for Local Government Indirect Elections, 2005 (3^rd Phase) in the districts of all the four Provinces shall come to an end with effect from the midnight falling between the 4^th  and 5^th October, 2005. All candidates contesting elections to the seats in Zila Councils and Tehsil/Town Councils are requested to follow the directions of the Hon’ble Chief Election Commissioner and exercise self-restraint so that the poll is held in an orderly and peaceful manner on 6^th October, 2005.
