Islamabad, the 6th January, 2007. ----WHEREAS, Sub-section 42A of the Representation of the People Act, 1976 provides that every Member of an Assembly shall, on a prescribed Form, submit a statement of assets and liabilities of his own, his spouse and dependents annually to the Commission by the thirtieth day of September each year;
AND WHEREAS, Sardar Mir Badshah Khan Qaisrani, Member, Provincial Assembly, Punjab, from Constituency No. PP-240 D.G.Khan-I, having failed to file the statement of assets and liabilities up to 16th October, 2006 ceased to function as Member of the said Assembly in terms of sub-section (3) of section 42A ibid vide Notification No.F.1(1)/2006-Confd., dated the 16th October, 2006.
AND WHEREAS the above said Member has now filed the statement of assets and liabilities with the Election Commission of Pakistan and the Chief Election Commissioner of Pakistan has been pleased to restore his Membership of the Provincial Assembly, Punjab under sub-section (3) of section 42A of the Representation of the People Act, 1976 with immediate effect.
NOW, THEREFORE, in pursuance of the aforesaid provisions of law and in exercise of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, the Chief Election Commissioner is pleased to notify hereunder for publication in the official Gazette, subject to all just exceptions, for information of general public the annual statement of assets and liabilities for the financial year ending on the 30th June, 2006 of the above mentioned Member of the Provincial Assembly, Punjab as filed by him. Notification No. F.1 (1)/2006-Confd.dated the 16th October, 2006 stands modified to the above extent accordingly.
