Mr. Babar Hassan Bharwana

Mr. Babar Hassan Bharwana, ex-Civil Servant hails from District Jhang, Punjab. He is a graduate from Government Collage Lahore and did his post-graduation in International Relations from Quaid-e-Azam University, Islamabad.

He started his career as a diplomat in Foreign Service of Pakistan and later joined DMG/PAS.

At the start of his career had served as Assistant Commissioner at different places in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab. He remained District Magistrate Faisalabad and later District Coordination Officer Vehari. In Punjab Government he has also served as Director General, Local Government and Community Development, Secretary Irrigation & Power, Secretary Forest, Wild Life & Fisheries and Chief Settlement Commissioner in the Board of Revenue.

In the Federal Government he remained posted in the Prime Minister, Secretariat, where he assisted the chief executive of the country on matters relating to public grievances and developmental schemes. He retired as Federal Secretary from the Ministry of Housing and Works in March, 2018.

He is author of three books, two are travel logs namely “Musaften Saqaften” and “Safar Safar Teri Duniya” along with his autobiography under the name of “Babar Beeti”.

He was appointed as Member Election Commission of Pakistan on 30th May 2022 for a five years term.
