                 Islamabad, the 26^th January, 2010.- Mr. Ishtiak Ahmad Khan, Secretary, Election Commission of Pakistan has stated that Notice has been ordered to be issued for 4-2-2010 on the Petition filed by Moulvi Iqbal Haider, Advocate, challenging the eligibility of President Mr. Asif Ali Zardari, for hearing of the petitioner by the Hon’ble Chief Election Commissioner on the point of maintainability of the petition.

 

2.                The Secretary, Election Commission of Pakistan further emphasized that as the matter is subjudice before the Chief Election Commissioner of Pakistan, and keeping in view the situation prevailing in the country, all those who love this country must ponder over the advisability of making uncalled for comments and having discussion on this issue of great sensitivity and importance which might adversely affect the national interest.
