NO UNAUTHORIZED PERSON TO VISIT THE POLLING STATION ON THE POLLING DAY

             Islamabad, the 22nd  August, 2005.-  Kanwar Muhammad Dilshad, Federal Secretary, Election Commission of Pakistan has drawn attention to Rule 27 of the Local Government Elections Rules, which provides that the Presiding Officer shall, subject to such instructions as the Chief Election Commissioner or a District Returning Officer or Returning Officer may give in this behalf, regulate the number of voters to be admitted to the polling station at a time and exclude from the polling station all other persons except any person on duty in connection with the election, the contesting candidates, their election agents and polling agents and such other persons as may be specifically permitted by the Returning Officer.
 
 
2.         The Chief Election Commissioner of Pakistan Mr. Justice Abdul Hameed Dogar has, therefore, directed that no Federal/Provincial Minister, Minister of State, Adviser, Chairman Standing Committee, MNA/MPA or Senator would be allowed to visit the polling stations on polling day i.e 25th August, 2005.
