(Official Result of In-Direct LG Elections 2005 Notified)
Islamabad, the 10th October, 2005.- Kanwar Muhammad Dilshad, Federal Secretary, Election Commission stated that Hon’ble Chief Election Commissioner has drawn attention of Hon’ble Members of the Parliament and Provincial Assemblies to the provisions of sub-section (3) of section 42A of the Representation of the People Act, 1976 (and sub-section (3) of section 25A of the Senate (Election) Act, 1975, which read as follows:
“(3) The Commissioner shall, by the fifteenth day of October each year, notify the names of the members who fail to file statements of assets and liabilities within the period specified in sub-section (1) and by an order, direct that such member shall cease to function till such statement is submitted.”
2. Secretary, Election Commission of Pakistan has said that pursuant to the above-mentioned provisions of law, names of members, who fail to file statements of assets and liabilities will be notified in the official Gazette on 15th October, 2005 accordingly.

OFFICIAL RESULTS OF L.G. INDIRECT ELECTIONS, 2005 TO ZILA COUNCILS AND TEHSIL/TOWN COUNCILS (3RD PHASE) NOTIFIED.

Islamabad, the 10th October, 2005.- Kanwar Muhammad Dilshad, Federal Secretary, Election Commission of Pakistan said that Consolidation of Results in respect of Zila Councils and Tehsil/Town Councils of all the four Provinces has been completed by all Returning Officers concerned under the Local Government Elections Rules of the Provinces.
2. The Federal Secretary, Election Commission added that the Acting Chief Election Commissioner Mr. Justice Abdul Hameed Dogar, Judge of the Supreme Court has been pleased to notify today the names of Returned Candidates on the basis of Official Results consolidated by the Returning Officers of Local Government Indirect Elections, 2005 to Zila Councils and Tehsil/Town Councils (3rd Phase) in all the four Provinces of the country, for publication in the official Gazette.
3. The Federal Secretary, Election Commission further said that in connection with Local Government Indirect Elections-2005 (3rd Phase) to the seat of Nazims and reserved seats for Women, Peasants/Workers and Minority Communities in Zila Councils and Tehsil/Town Councils in all the four Provinces, the Hon’ble Chief Election Commissioner has further been pleased to appoint Election Tribunals for trial and disposal of Election Petitions filed by the aggrieved persons.
4. Kanwar Muhammad Dilshad has drawn attention of all concerned to the provisions of Local Government Elections Rules of the Provinces, which provide the Procedure for filing Election Petition within thirty days of the publication in the official Gazette the names of the returned candidates.
