PERSONS WORKING AWAY FROM THEIR HOME-TOWNS ADVISED TO LEAVE COPIES OR THE NUMBER OF THEIR NATIONAL IDENTITY CARDS WITH THE HEAD OF THEIR FAMILIES.
Secretary
Election Commission of Pakistan
Islamabad, the 2nd August, 2006.— Kanwar Muhammad Dilshad, Federal Secretary, Election Commission of Pakistan has advised all the persons, who are 18 years of age or above and who are employed away from their home-town and desire to enroll themselves in their home-town, to leave a copy of their National Identity Card or the number thereof with the head of their families so that they could be registered as voter and the head of the family may be able to mention their National Identity Card number against their names in the relevant Form. The Federal Secretary has further stated that non-availability of National Identity Card number, with the head of the family, may result in delay in returning the Form to the enumerating staff appointed by the Election Commission of Pakistan and may disenfranchise the eligible persons thereby not registering them as voter but for production of their NIC number. They are, therefore, advised that without NIC number (new or old) no person shall be registered as voter.
