Islamabad, the 3rd October, 2005.- Mr. Justice Abdul Hammed Dogar, Acting Chief Election Commissioner of Pakistan has taken serious view of some news appearing in a section of press and also reported by some private TV channels that loyalties of newly elected Nazims, Naib Nazims and members of Union councils are being purchased by some candidates to win their favour in forthcoming indirect elections. The Hon’ble Chief Election Commissioner has therefore directed the District and Session Judges/ District Returning Officers concerned to look into the matter and take appropriate action in accordance with law for stopping this corrupt practice forthwith.
