Resolution of No Confidence passed by the leaders and party-men of PML-Q against ECP
Islamabad, the 4th January, 2013.- Resolution of No Confidence passed by the leaders and party-men of PML-Q against ECP for the following reasons:
1) ECP is a Spokesman of PML-N.
2) Failed for check rigging by election.
3) Reservations which PML-Q has about ECP should be removed.
The ECP clarified and emphatically deny that ECP is a Spokesman of PML-N. To the contrary, ECP is absolutely neutral.
It Chief Election Commissioner and four Members were brought in by the mutual consent of all the Political Parties. No one in the Commission has any affiliation with any Political Party. Therefore, the allegation is totally incorrect.
All the complaints made by the PML-Q, prior to the Bye-Elections conducted in the province of Punjab passionately heard and immediately redressed . Complaints by PML-Q after the conclusion & declaration of results by the returning officer have to be heard and tried by the election tribunal under the law. Therefore, it is legally incorrect to challenge that ECP failed to check rigging, if committed, by any party in the bye-election.
The allegations that Political Parties except PML-N has reservations about ECP and the same should be moved, is biased view. To the contrary, all the Political Parties alongwith their leaders have frequently/ continuously expressed their confidence on ECP measures taken to conduct the general election in free, fair and transparent manner.
Incident of air firing at Sialkot, Gujranwala and Sahiwal were reported to the Police, whereby FIR were registered, culprits apprehended and arms recovered the bail out of the culprits, if any, was by the courts.
