Responsibilities of Gender and Social Inclusion Wing

Gender Affairs Wing 

  • Gender Affairs wing is created to ensure gender inclusiveness and apply gender lens to electoral cycle, also to protect the electoral rights of marginalized communities i.e. Transgenders, Minorities, Persons with Disabilities (PWDs)
  • Gender Affairs Wing is taking initiatives to fill the gap between male and female voters by launching joint campaign with NADRA for NIC-Voter Registration Campaign for women
  • Gender Wing through Gender and Disability Electoral Working Groups (GDEWGs) is taking steps for Civic and Voter Education through broadcast messages and ICE material
  • To represent ECP on forums advocating electoral rights of women, transgenders, minorities, and Persons with Disabilities (PWDs)
  • To create a liaison between NGOs, Civil Society Organizations, and Development Partners for the better interest of both country and ECP
  • To approve, amend, modify and forward day to business of Gender Affairs Wing
  • To create healthy liaison with the organizations working for Transgenders, Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), and minorities
  • Gender Affairs also works to provide comfortable environment to women at polling stations by ensuring Female polling staff
