Senate Election Schedule

 

Islamabad, the 31st January, 2006

            No.F.3(1)/2006-Cord(1).- In pursuance of section 10 of the Senate (Election) Act, 1975 (No. LI of 1975), read with clause (3) of Article 59 and clause (3) of Article 224 of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the Chief Election Commissioner hereby calls upon the Members of the Provincial Assembly of each of the Provinces of the Punjab, Sindh,    N-W.F., and Balochistan to elect to the Senate seven Members from general seats, two Members from the seats reserved for women and two Members for the seats reserved for Technocrats including Ulema, from each of the Provinces of the Punjab, Sindh, NWFP and Balochistan in place of the Members of the Senate belonging to the first group, who are due to retire after the expiration of their three years term on 11th March, 2006 and fixes, in relation thereto, the following dates for the nomination of candidates, the scrutiny of nomination papers, filing of appeals, disposal of appeals , withdrawal of candidature and for the taking of the poll at the places noted against them:

            No.F.3(1)/2006-Cord(3).-  In pursuance of section 10 of the Senate (Election) Act, 1975     (No.LI of 1975) read with clause (3) of Article 59 and clause (3) of Article 224 of the Constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan and the State and Frontier Regions Division Notification SRO No.746(1)/75 dated the 7th July, 1975, the Chief Election Commissioner hereby calls upon the members of National Assembly from the Federally Administered Tribal Areas to elect to the Senate four Members against general seats, in place of the Members of the Senate belonging to the first group, who are due to retire after the expiration of their three years term on 11th March, 2006 and fixes, in relation to, the following dates for the nomination of candidates, the scrutiny of nomination papers, filing of appeals, disposal of appeals, withdrawal of candidature and for the taking of the poll at the place noted below:
