(Statement of Accounts of PPPP)

          Islamabad, the 12th September, 2005.- Kanwar Muhammad Dilshad, Federal Secretary, Election Commission of Pakistan has said that it has been reported in a section of Press that Election Commission has not accepted statement of Accounts filed by Pakistan Peoples Party with malafide intention. He has clarified that Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarian was formed before General Elections-2002. The said Party submitted its documents which were found inconformity with the provisions of Political Parties Order, 2002 and the party was also allotted an election symbol for contesting General Elections, 2002. Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarian have been filing their Statement of Accounts since 2002 and has now filed their annual statement of Accounts in time and the said statement has been accepted by Election Commission.

 

 

2.         The Secretary, Election Commission has further said that Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarian (Patriot) and Pakistan Peoples Party (Sherpao) were merged and formed a new party Pakistan Peoples Party. The documents submitted by the said Pakistan Peoples Party were also found in order and therefore kept on record by the Election Commission. The said Party has also filed its Statement of Accounts.  Now Statement of Accounts signed by Mr. Jahangir Badar in the name of Pakistan Peoples Party was received. This Party does not exist on the record of Election Commission, hence it’s statement was returned. The Election Commission has acted in the matter in accordance with law and it is wrong to say that action taken by it was malafide.
