Subject: POLLS IN CONSTITUENCIES NO. NA-123 LAHORE-VI AND NA-55 RAWALPINDI-VI POSTPONED.

 

       Islamabad, the 10^th June, 2009. –     The Chief Election Commissioner of Pakistan has been pleased to postpone the Polls in Constituencies      No. NA-123 Lahore-VI and NA-55 Rawalpindi-VI scheduled to be held on 30^th June, 2009 and 4^th July, 2009 respectively till further orders in view of the report, dated the 8^th June, 2009 received from the Chief Secretary, Government of the Punjab, Lahore regarding volatile law and order situation particularly as to serious threats of terrorists attacks.  Election Commission has further clarified that the remaining Pre-poll stages for  bye-election in Constituency No. NA-55 Rawalpindi-VI shall be completed as per Schedule already notified.
