The Chief Election Commissioner of Pakistan hereby issues public notification in respect of Election to the office of the President of Islamic Republic of Pakistan

Islamabad, the 22nd August, 2008
No. F.4(1)/2008-Cord(1).- In pursuance of the provisions contained in Paragraphs 1 and 3 of the Second Schedule to the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, 1973 read with clauses (3) and (5) of Article 41 of the Constitution, the Chief Election Commissioner of Pakistan hereby issues public notification in respect of Election to the office of the President of Islamic Republic of Pakistan, which has fallen vacant due to resignation tendered by former President Mr. Pervez Musharraf, and hereby fixes in relation thereto the following Programme for receipt of nomination papers(to be filed at different places), scrutiny of nomination papers, withdrawal of candidature, publication of the list of validly nominated candidates and about the polling day and the place of polling:

Filing of nomination papers with the Returning Officer/Presiding Officer at Islamabad and with each of the Presiding Officers at Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar and Quetta.
Scrutiny of nomination papers by the Returning Officer at Islamabad.
Withdrawal of candidature before the Returning Officer at Islamabad.
Publication of the list of validly nominated candidates.
Polling day and Polling time.
Place of the Poll.
