The Election Commission has taken notice of widespread media reports that quote senior leadership of ANP wherein grievance is made that ECP has caused the withdrawal of security from ANP leadership in Khyber Pukhtunkhwa

Islamabad, the 16^th April, 2013.- The Election Commission has taken notice of widespread media reports that quote senior leadership of ANP wherein grievance is made that ECP has caused the withdrawal of security from ANP leadership in Khyber Pukhtunkhwa. However, it is hereby clarified that there has been no such direction from the ECP to the Provincial or Federal Governments to withdraw security from the ANP leadership.

In fact, the CEC and the Members of the Election Commission fully support the demand from all political parties that necessary security be provided to all candidates by the Federal and Provincial Caretaker Governments.
