Islamabad, the 6th May 2013. -    The Election Commission of Pakistan has directed all the District Returning Officers (DROs) to take up all the complaints pertaining to establishment of polling stations by May 8th, 2013 and issue corrigendum, where appropriate.

It is pertinent to add here that as per decision of the ECP, the list of polling stations for General Elections 2008 were kept intact while a comprehensive survey was conducted in 2012 for increasing the number of polling stations and ensuring establishment of polling stations within the radius of two kilometres wherever possible. Resultantly, the number of polling stations has been increased from 64,176 to 69876.

Now, 313 complaints have been received by the ECP requesting for change of polling stations (the detail of complaints is available at the ECP’s website www.ecp.gov.pk) and the ECP has forwarded these complaints to the concerned DROs for taking appropriate action.

All complainants have been therefore asked to contact their concerned DROs regarding their complaints.
