The Election Commission of Pakistan has invited the attention of all elected independent candidates of 2nd phase of Local Government Elections held on 19th November, 2015 in the Sindh Province.

            Islamabad, the 26^th  December 2015:-   The Election Commission of Pakistan has invited the attention of all elected independent candidates of 2^nd phase of Local Government Elections held on 19^th November, 2015 in the  Sindh  Province to the provision of Rule 42(A) of the Sindh Local Councils (Election) Rules, 2015 which provides that “an independent candidate elected under the Sindh Local Government Act, 2013 may join a political party within seven (7) days of the publication the names in the Official Gazette of Returned Candidates”.

           

            Therefore, all the independent candidates, intending to join any political party must ensure that an acceptance letter from the Political Party Leader addressed to the RO concerned has been delivered within stipulated period.

            Furthermore, as Notifications of Returned Candidates of 2^nd phase of Local Government Elections held on 19^th November, 2015 in the  Sindh  Province have been issued on 26^th  December 2015, and the Election Tribunals have been notified for resolution of disputes, all applicants / petitioners are requested to approach the Election Tribunals for redress of their grievances.
