(Wrong Impression)
Islamabad, the 8th August, 2005.- A news item appearing in a section of press conveys wrong impression regarding cancellation of transfers of police officers/officials made after imposition of ban. It is clarified that a complaint was received in Election Commission that in Badin district, two Head Constables and four Constables were transferred after announcement of Election Schedule. Similarly, another complaint was received that SHO Hujra Shah Muqeem in Okara district has been posted after imposition of ban on transfers/postings.
2. Hon’ble Chief Election Commissioner took a serious note of violation of the ban imposed on postings/transfers after announcement of Election Schedule and directed concerned District Police Officers to cancel immediately the transfers made after 30th June, 2005. In compliance with orders of Hon’ble Chief Election Commissioner, District Police Officer, Badin and District Police Officer, Okara have cancelled transfers/postings of two Head Constables and four Constables in Badin district and one SHO in Okara district respectively, which were made after 30th June, 2005.
