In compliance of the order of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of Pakistan passed today in a petition filed by Workers Party about controlling election expenses, a meeting was held under the Chairmanship of Mr. Justice Mian Shakirullah Jan, Hon’ble Acting Chief Election Commissioner of Pakistan in the Election Commission Secretariat, Islamabad where the Chief Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner Islamabad (ICT), General Manager NADRA were called to prepare a joint report by tomorrow i-e Wednesday, the 18th April 2012

The Election Commission of Pakistan has authorized the District Returning Officer, Returning Officer and Assistant Returning Officer appointed for Bye-Elections in Constituencies No. PS-53 Tando Muhammad Khan-cum-Hyderabad (Old Hyderabad-XI) and PP-194 Multan-I and the Presiding Officers appointed for each Polling Station of the said Constituencies, to exercise the powers of a Magistrate of the First Class under the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1898 (Act V of 1898) on the 26th April, 2012

The Election Commission authorizes the District Returning Officer, Returning Officer and Assistant Returning Officers appointed for Bye-Election in Constituency No. PP-194 Multan-I, and the Presiding Officers appointed for each Polling Station of the said Constituency, to exercise the powers of a Magistrate of the First Class under the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1898 (Act V of 1898) on the 26th April, 2012
